Douglas Hayter had a shed where he dried wood but used to find it hard to enter through the door due to very long grass. Mr Hayter decided to overcome this problem by mounting a 2 stroke motorcycle engine on top of a dustbin lid, added some wheels, attached a sharpened blade to the crankshaft and a mower was born. He then found this attracted a lot of attention, so he turned this skill into making Hayter mowers.
All types of Hayter mowers have been made since then, grass toppers, hay cutters, orchard mowers, bank mowers and pedestrian controlled models like the evergreen Hayterette which was produced in the 1960s, then in the 1970s came the 19" Harrier model, this was so successful that twenty eight years later it was voted product of the year by many of the dealers that still sell them.
Hayter mowers have been manufactured for over 60 years and are the world's finest, due to their dedication to produce an excellent mower and giving customer satifaction. Hayter lawnmowers are very reliable and give you trouble free lawn cutting every time you mow your lawn.
