Well, I signed up for the Web Host Starter Learning Centre and after have a good look through the facilities and utilities all I can say is WOW!
I consider myself fairly internet and website savvy but I have to admit there is definitely something in the Learning Centre for everybody, no matter what their competence level.
The list of information impressed me with how easy it is to use, you can see at a glance the info that is available as you scroll down the page.
The very first couple of Informational Videos are about using the Web Host Starter Learning Centre itself! One of them even tells you how to use the Learning Centre to earn extra cash, that, I must admit does appeal to me.
Knowing a little about websites and building them I really like the way the videos all follow on from each other taking you by the hand and showing how to complete each step to build a successful website, or blog, or page, whichever it is you are after.
I found the videos have just the right amount of info about each subject and aren’t too long or full of unnecessary wording or instruction, which is often the case with a lot of stuff out there. They are short, sharp and to the point, very easy to follow and which again makes a change.
I have been pleasantly surprised at how many videos there are, taking you from the very basic ‘logging in to your account’ to advanced ‘SEO work’! Every base seems to have been covered.
I personally think this website and its info has been very well thought out, with the end user in mind.
The first set of videos show you how to down load website building software onto your computer and then continues on to explain in very easy to understand language how to pick a design for your website/page, place text, add pictures, make form buttons, publish your website/page to the internet and to upload your own videos to YouTube,
It explains how to make the videos and where to get your free video making software! It’s all there right through to optimising it for submission to the search engines and hopefully getting yourself on the first page of Google, Yahoo and the likes.
A lot of the Web Host Starter Learning Centre is FREE to access and there is a paid for section if you feel it will benefit you, which I signed up for realising the further benefits for me. No high pressure, sign up now, sign up now attitude, it’s a really laid back place which I find a pleasure to use. There is always something being added all the time.
There is a section on where to find Wholesale products for you to sell and the how to advertise and promote your website to make some profit.
Plus the learning Centre shows you how to use ‘Dreamweaver’ for your web building, a great bit of kit, it’s the only software I use.
One section is called the Promotional Centre which shows you in easy step by step instructions how and where to advertise any banners or text links you have made on your website or how to get them shown on others advertising websites. There are even banners to use already made up with your own details already embedded into them!
Great for driving traffic to your website. There is a template of a text advert to use that you can copy and paste into your web site and/or send out to safelists or your mailing lists to promote the Learning Centre.
There are plenty of bits and bobs, like a bit about making videos to promote your site, how to set up a Gmail account, and plenty more.
More information is added to the centre on a regular basis and it really does get to grips with the complexities and the often MIS-beliefs about building a successful website.
I’m pleased I found the centre, it has helped me tremendously to make my website more visible and profitable, which is the name of the game isn’t it?
